Free Goalie Training

Forest Lake goalie committee along with the Forest Lake Hockey Association is proud to announce that this year there will be professional training for our goalies. This training will be provided by Goalie Development Institute Minnkota/GDI at no additional cost to goaltenders or their families. See the pdf below for more details.

Mission Statement

It is the desire and purpose of the Forest Lake Hockey Goalie Committee to work as an intermediary for the FL Hockey board on issues related specifically to the development of Safety, Respect and Recognition of ALL goalies not dependant on age, gender, or skill level within the Forest Lake Hockey Organization. This will be accomplished through the following:

  1. Develop and provide suggested “warm-up” protocol for all goalies and their coaches at all levels of play.
  2. Provide goalie specific training both on and off the ice for goalies.
  3. Provide training for goalie parents through off ice workshops as a way to better understand the training and psyche of your goalie.
  4. Provide goalie specific training (Train the Trainer) opportunities for all coaches at all levels of play.
  5. Defray costs when and where appropriate for equipment, registration fees, and training.
  6. Ensure dialogue with head coaches and goalie coaches as a way to assist in the development of their goalies whenever possible.
  7. To be a conduit for suggestions to the FL Hockey board where goalies are concerned.
  8. To enhance the level of fun and confidence in our goalies whenever possible.
  9. To work with the Forest Lake Hockey Board in the best interest of the goalie, goalie coaches and the interest in the Forest Lake Hockey organization.
  10. To be an unbiased representative for Forest Lake goalies and their parents on any issue directly related to the above without fear of favoritism or recourse.

GOALTENDING IS NOT EASY, BUT YOU WILL NOT BE ALONE!

STAND YOUR GROUND

Respectfully,

The Forest Lake Goalie Committee
