This program is for boys and girls ages 4 – 8 that are new to hockey and currently have little or no skating ability. Practices are once per week and allow kids to try hockey in a fun, casual environment without a significant time or financial commitment. Full sets of loaner “starter” equipment may be available to minimize costs to families. For more information, download the pdf below.
This level is for boys and girls ages 5 or 6 who have completed 1 year of the Mite / Intro to Hockey program OR have basic skating skills (i.e. ability to glide and move around on the ice). Mite 1 skaters practice more often and focus on further development of their skating skills and on learning the basics of hockey, but with a continued emphasis on having fun.
This level is generally for boys (but also open to girls) ages 6 or 7 who have completed 1 – 2 years of the Mite program. The focus of Mites 2 is on improving basic skills learned in Mites 1 and learning more advanced hockey and skating skills. Practice frequency increases and mid-week outdoor practices may be added. This level also spends more time on small area games and 3-on-3 drills.
This level is generally for boys (but also open to girls) ages 7 or 8 who have completed 2 -3 years of the Mite program AND whose hockey skills have advanced to a level sufficient for Level 3. An informal review of player skill levels will occur at the start of the season to insure proper placement. Mite 3 skaters will focus on advanced skating and stick handling skills, and will introduce team play and rules of the game to prepare for advancement to the Squirt level. This level offers the first opportunity for actual game situations with other cities.
This level is for girls ages 5 or 6 who have completed 1 – 2 years of the Mite program. The focus of this level is on improving basic skills and learning more advanced hockey and skating skills. This level is for girls ages 7 or 8 who have completed 2 -3 years of hockey and have been evaluated for assignment to this level. Practices will stress advanced skating skills, stick handling, shooting, passing, and will introduce team play and rules of the game to prepare for advancement to the 10U level. This level offers the first opportunity for actual game situations with other cities.
This level is generally for boys ages 9 - 10 who have successfully completed the Mites program and have qualified for participation at the Squirt level. Tryouts are conducted at the beginning of the season to determine rosters for A team, B teams, and C teams.
This level is for girls ages 9 – 10 who have completed 2 – 4 years of U8 or Mites level hockey and have qualified for participation at the U10 level. Tryouts are conducted at the beginning of the season to determine rosters for A team, B teams, and C teams.
This level is generally for boys ages 11 - 12 who have successfully completed the Squirts program and have qualified for participation at the PeeWee level. Tryouts are conducted at the beginning of the season to determine rosters for A team, B teams, and C teams.
This level is for girls age 11– 12 who have successfully completed the U10 Girls program and have qualified for participation at the U12 level. Tryouts are conducted at the beginning of the season to determine rosters for A team, B teams, and C teams.
This level is for boys age 13-14 who have successfully completed the Pee Wees and have qualified for participation at the Bantam level. Tryouts are conducted at the beginning of the season to determine rosters for A team, B teams, and C teams.
