COVID Update - January 11th, 2021



Minnesota Hockey today announced its guidance for Phase 5, which will go into effect on Thursday, January 14 when games may resume. Key highlights of Phase 5 include:

  • One spectator per player may be allowed at practices but should still be limited as much as possible. 
  • A maximum of two spectators per player will be allowed for games, with exceptions for parents or guardians who must bring in young children.
  • Three coaches will be allowed on the bench during games
  • No resurfacing during games (between periods).
  • Tournaments may occur.
  • Inter-state travel must be approved by the appropriate District Director and is strongly discouraged, with the exception of border towns.
  • Locker Rooms will be used starting January 14th.  They will be used for every other hour.  The other hour the benches / chairs will be used to allow staff to sanitize.

The following rules still apply:

  • Face coverings are required at all times, including practices and games.  This requirement includes players for on-ice activities.
  • Pod sizes for practice are 25 with two allowed on the rink at the same time.
  • Players should arrive fully dressed.  Goalies should arrive half-dressed.
  • No bags are allowed in the arena with the exception of goalies.
  • Players must not enter the arena prior to 10 minutes before the start of their scheduled ice time. They must exit arena no later than 10 minutes following the conclusion of their ice time.
  • No Dryland / Pre game off ice warm up will be allowed.
