Forest Lake Squirt B1 brings home the Championship at the OMGHA Squirt Extravaganza!
Game 1 was against undefeated Chaska-Chanhassen. Rangers battled and won that game 5-1. Goals were scored by Kellen Melberg, 2 by Colton Stang, Brixton Kraft, and Brody Meister. Assists by Owen Siverhus, Levi Daley, Brody Meister and 2 assists by Kellen Melberg.
Game 2 was against the home team OMG Gold and ended in another win for the Rangers with a score of 3-1. Those goals were scored by Max Meister, Brody Meister, and Derrick Loomis, assists by Brixton Kraft, Jack Pavlas, and Kellen Melberg.
Game 3 was vs. Elk River and ended in another win for the Rangers with the score of 2-0. 1st goal scored by Kellen Melberg assisted by Max Meister and 2nd goal scored by Brody Meister assisted by Colton Stang. Great job to goalie Gage Winkler on the shut out!
Game 4 was vs. the home town OMG White. Rangers pulled off another win and won with a score of 8-3. Those goals were scored by Leo Schipper, Brixton Kraft, Kellen Melberg, Blake Langer, Brody Meister, and a hat trick by Colton Stang! Assists by Levi Daley, Colton Stang, Blake Langer, Max Meister, and Owen Siverhus.
Game 5 ended up being a rematch against Chaska-Chanhassen for the championship. They came hungry for revenge! 1st period ended 0-0. 2nd period Derrick Loomis shot one of his notorious power shots and Brody Meister was there and ready for the rebound with 0.8 seconds left in the period making it 1-0! The entire 3rd period the Rangers were able to hold that score even after CC pulled their goalie in hopes of scoring with 6 skaters. NOPE! Between the strong goalie Gage Winkler and the Championship on the minds of the Rangers they won the game with a score of 1-0.
Way to go Rangers! They received complements from other teams on how they play as a team and are fun to watch! Great representation of Forest Lake.
Congratulations to the 12U A team for taking 3rd place in the Bemidji tournament. Game 1 against Bemidji the girls took the win 7-0 with Taylor Thompson getting a shut out. Game 2 the girls beat Albert Lea 5-1. Game 3 was a tough loss against Moorehead 7-1, which put them playing for 3rd place on Sunday for game 4. Game 4 for 3rd place against Brainerd/Little Falls was an intense one, but Forest Lake takes the win with Samantha Scott making the only goal of the game and Taylor Thompson getting her second shut out of the tournament. Congratulations on 3rd place!
Congratulations to the 8U Rangers on taking 1st Place at FLakeJam this past weekend! They defeated Centennial 9-1 to take the championship!
Forest Lake Squirt B1 wins the Championship at both the Brooklyn Park Pirate Classic and the Willmar Cardinal Classic!
Squirt B1 took on Sartell for game 1 and won with a score of 6-0. Many impressive goals and assists happening during that game.
Then game 2 the Rangers really came to play beating the St. Paul Capitals 11-1. This meant they had earned their spot in the championship game!
Championship game time the Rangers found themselves playing Northern Edge. Leo Schipper scoring the first goal assisted by Owen Siverhus. Shortly after Northern edge got one in the net. Then comes Brixton Kraft scoring assisted by Blake Langer.
Final goal was scored by Levi Daley and assisted by Derek Loomis. Leaving final score of 3-1 and the Rangers taking home the Championship!!!!
The Rangers then made their way west to the Willmar Cardinal Classic.
The Rangers dominated scoring a total of 78 goals over the 3 day weekend! They faced Marshall, Sauk Rapids, Redwood Falls and then Prairie Centre for the championship.
With the great accommodations many memories and fun times were made with kids and parents alike.
Squirt B2 Gold took 1st Place in New Ulm last weekend.
They boys started out the weekend with a victory over Albert Lea and followed it up on Saturday morning with a second win over Anoka. They were able to limit their opponents to a combined 5 shots on goal between those first two games!
After a visit to Hermann the German between games for a little advice, they were back in action for their second game of Saturday against NUSE (New Ulm-Sleepy Eye). They came out victorious and were off to the championship on Sunday.
Sunday saw the boys facing a familiar rival Andover. It was a close evenly matched game with 15 to 14 shots on goal with several spectacular saves by Goalie #93 Carter Ferngren and was tied 1-1 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd. Squirt B2 fought hard and came out victorious after a goal by #62 Owen Miklya put them over the top with a final score of 2-1!

Peewee C took first place in the Ranger Classic the weekend of November 15th!
Peewee C started the weekend strong led by #36 Austin Smith with a victory over Rosemount by a score of 10 - 2.
They were able to follow it up with another victory for their second game of the day over Andover by a score of 5-2.
They clinched first place on Sunday triumphing over Shakopee by a score of 3-1!

Forest Lake 10A took 2nd place in The Showdown in Potato Town tournament (Moorhead MN).
The Rangers started off their first game with a 10-0 win over Armstrong Cooper, with over half the team scoring, and all of them dominating the ice. Hannah Rychley got the first goal of the game (2 goals, 1 assist total). Lexi Thompson scored the second and ended up getting 5 points this game (hat trick and 2 assists). Piper Delong, Emily Wiltzius, Vanessa Joyce, Lilly Halweg (Goal and assist), Olivia Roberts, Madison Gentz, Hope Tuma and Mackenzie Poferl all recorded points.
Our girls were able to keep up the momentum for game #2 the following morning against the hometown team, Moorhead. It was a much closer game. Olivia Roberts got the first goal of the game in the beginning of the second period. The Rangers kept it going when Hope Tuma scored just about 2 minutes later assisted by Poferl and Gentz. Emily Wiltzius sealed the game up scoring on a power play with an assist from Joyce at the very end of the second period. The game ended 3-0 and goalie Zoey Tessier, has now logged 2 shut outs earning the Rangers extra tourney points along the way!
Game 3 was against Roseau, and the girls struggled with a 0-5 loss. It was Roseau's first game of the day and our second. It was a hard-fought game, but sadly we couldn't get there.
Finally, for the 2nd place spot we played the Minneapolis Storm. With no scoring in the first, Lexi Thompson scored off a rebound from Olivia Roberts (assist) and put points on the board. Piper DeLong scored shortly after with an assist from Makenna Goar. The game ended 2-0 and Tessier earned her 3rd shutout of the weekend. The Rangers took 2nd place and took home a spud trophy! A huge thanks to coach Rychley, Coach Halweg and Coach Tuma for getting us there!
Forest Lake Rangers Peewee B2 Gold takes 2nd in the Breezy Point tournament.
Gold tied the first game of the tournament against Rosemount 1-1 in a close matched game.
Gold with the win against Cottage Grove 5-1 and another win that day against Hermantown 2-1.
The boys made their way to the championship game against Mankato. Forest Lake started strong with scoring their first goal in the first period and the second goal with a penalty shot. Mankato took the lead scoring three goals and their fourth with their goalie pulled, ending the game 4-2. Way to go Forest Lake Peewee b2 gold with taking home second place!
15U A place 3rd at the All American Girls Tournament, November 15-17. It started with a tough 1-4 loss vs. Anoka/Rogers, but the lady Rangers bounced back with a 3-0 win over Wilmette Braves (IL). They then moved on to Duluth for a 5-3 win which secured them a spot in the playoff bracket. First round of the playoffs paired them up against Stillwater, which ended in a 4-1 loss and a spot in the third place game. It ended with a 3-0 victory over Duluth!
