The coaches corner is a place to enhance your sports education. The goal of this area is to assist you in developing better players and better people for future success at whatever level you might be at. Our goal is for you to learn one new thing each time you visit this section. If you have any questions, suggested topics, or articles to contribute to this area please contact us.

We are requiring all coaches to register with Forest Lake Hockey prior to participating in any one ice activities.  The information provided with be utilized to improve communications with our coaches and ensure all coaches have registered with USA hockey.  It will also serve as the basis for the information needed to roster coaches and to provide reimbursement for the cost of registering with USA Hockey.

To complete your registration select the link below and follow the instructions outlined.  

For the season, in order to be reimbursed for your $47 USA Hockey registration fee and any required coaching clinics, age modules or background checks you must upload your receipts to your coach's registration form by October 31st.  This form can be updated after submission when you have your receipts.  We will then issue all reimbursement checks in November.

Below is a listing of the various registration and training requirements for all Forest Lake Hockey Coaches.  

• Register with USA hockey https://www.usahockey.com/usahockeyregistration to register with USA hockey.  (required every season and must be completed before participating in any team activity)
• Register with Forest Lake Hockey above(required every season and must be completed before participating in any team activity)
• Step 3:  Submit an Electronic Background Screening. Click Here to go to Minnesota Hockey to complete the screening.  (Required every 2 years)
• Complete Safesport training.  https://www.usahockey.com/safesportprogram (required every season must be completed before participating in any team activity)
• Complete USA Hockey Age Specific Module usahockey.com/agespecificmodules (required for age group coaching and must be completed before participating in any team activity)
• Complete USA Hockey Coaching Education Program.  To complete Coaching Education Program (CEP). Click here (must be completed by December 31)
• Send an email to Webmaster indicating what team (or teams) you will be working with this season.

MANDATORY DISTRICT 2 COACHES AND MANAGERS MEETING SCHEDULE

***Coaches and Managers please mark your calendars and be ready to attend the appropriate MANDATORY District 2 meeting*** 

All meetings will be held at the White Bear Lake South Campus High School (3551 McKnight Rd.) at 6:30PM. 

Rules, rule changes, website changes, scorebook/box procedures and schedules will be discussed. These meetings are mandatory for all Coaches and Managers.

• Lost Card? A form for replacement is available on the Minnesota Hockey Web site in the coaches section.
• Clinics are listed on the USA Hockey Web site. Currently only four clinics are listed. Many more clinics will be posted in the next several weeks.
• You have until late December to attain the proper level.

All coaches must be certified to their appropriate level. It is important that you carry your Certification Card with you any time you are on the ice.
