Cold Weather & Outdoor Ice Rules

Cold Weather/Winter Weather A.

A static temperature of 10 degrees below zero or a wind-chill factor of 20 degrees below zero (wind-chill = outdoor only) will permit cancellation of all outdoor games. The determination of whether a game/practice/scrimmage is canceled due to cold weather shall be made two (2) hours prior to the events scheduled start time (or as early as practicable) and shall be the responsibility of the team’s Head Coach. The Coach must also ensure that their Level Director, the FLHA board and ice scheduler are informed of any cancellations. District 2 rules for inclement weather must be followed for cancellation of games and/or scrimmages where referees are involved (referee payment may still be required and would be the responsibility of the individual team, not the association). To ensure uniformity the official temperature and windchill reading(s) shall be obtained through KARE-11.com. This rule does not apply to events held inside arenas.
