Tryouts
General tryout information
Below you will find all relevant information regarding tryouts for the upcoming 26/27 season. If you have any additional questions, contact Mike Zacher the Tryouts Director, at tryouts@flhockey.org
Top Team Tryouts
- A Team tryouts take place prior to regular tryouts in late September.
- Participation in the Top Team Tryouts is an additional $95 over the regular tryouts cost of $125 to cover the cost of ice and evaluators.
- Goalie tryouts for the Top Team is by invitation only after completion of the goalie skills night and the goalie Top Team Tryout fee is $0.
- Not all levels will have an Top Team tryout prior to the regular tryout. There must be a minimum of 3 teams at the level.
- There will be 3 sessions for the Top Team Tryouts and at the end of the 2nd & 3rd session the bottom players will be cut from the Top Team tryouts.
- Players that are not cut after the 3rd session will have earned a spot in the A Pool
- The A pool will continue forward with the traditional process of the A Pool practice and game per the tryout policies and procedures.
- After the 3rd session, players will either be cut or continue on in the A Pool. The advancing group will consist of the top team; players who are ultimately not rostered on the top team will automatically be rostered on the second highest team.
- Players that are cut after the 2nd or 3rd session will automatically be scheduled to participate in the regular tryouts.
Traditional Tryouts
- Tryouts will consist of the battle night/3v3, & 5v5 as outlined in the tryouts policies and procedures.
- Regular tryout fee is $125/person.
- Goalie tryouts fee is $0/person
- Players that attended the Top Team Tryout but were cut, will start over as every other player and all previous scores will be erased.
- Players that elect to not tryout will be placed on the bottom team for there level.
Schedule outline--this does NOT reflect the order of groups each night. A finalized schedule will be made available closer to tryouts.
Jr Gold Tryouts
- Tryouts will consist of the multiple days of 5v5 as outlined in the tryouts policies and procedures.
- Tryouts will take place in mid-November after the completion of the High School tryouts.
- Tryout fee is $50/person, is non-refundable, and is required for all players.
- Players that choose not to tryout will still have to pay the $50/person tryout fee.
