Jr. Gold
Jr Gold Hockey offers high school-aged players a competitive, fast-paced environment beyond the varsity level. With strong team play, physical intensity, and a deep love for the game, Jr Gold provides a platform for skilled athletes to continue developing and competing at a high level while representing their communities with pride.
Ages
High School Boys ages 15-18 (10th, 11th, & 12th Grade)
USA Hockey Registration
- Players are NOT required to provide a USA Hockey Registration number at the time of registration since it is not required for the MN High School Ice Hockey Program if you make the High School teams.
- Players that play Jr. Gold will need to register with USA Hockey and provide a USA Hockey number PRIOR to the start of tryouts.

Birth Certificate (New Players Only)
New players to Forest Lake Hockey Association will need to submit a photocopy of their Birth Certificate to the Secretary in order to participate in their team's first ice session. Please reach out to the Secretary if you have any questions.
Player Waivers
Players that live OUTSIDE the official Forest Lake School District boundaries must complete a waiver form and submit it to FLHA before participating in any Forest Lake Hockey Association activities. This will need to be completed each year unless a permanent waiver is on file.
FLHA Tryouts
- Tryouts are conducted in the middle of November several days after the completion of the High School Boys Varsity & Junior Varsity Tryouts.
- Players electing to tryout must be fully registered by the start of the Jr. Gold Tryouts to participate.
- Players that elect to not tryout will be placed automatically on the bottom team for their level but still must be registered by the start of Jr. Gold Tryouts.

High School Tryouts
- All players that register with FLHA and make the High School Varsity or JV team will be given a full refund by the association.
- If you are registered for Jr. Gold, please notify the Vice President of Operations and/or the Tryouts Director as soon as possible if you make the High School teams.
Practices
Practices can take place at any of the following rinks:
- Forest Lake Sports Center - Hallberg North (Primary)
- Forest Lake Sports Center - Hallberg South (Primary)
- National Sports Center Super Rink - Rinks 1 - 8 (Secondary)
Games / Tournaments
- Teams will typically play in up to 24 league games for the season. (12 Home & 12 Away)
- Each team is registered for 2 tournaments as part of their registration and they typically include 1 local tournament in the Twin Cities and 1 away tournament outside of the Twin Cities.
Extra Team Costs
Costs for the items below will be coordinated through each team's Manager and will be above and beyond the costs collected during registration:
- 3rd and/or 4th Tournament
- Player Apparel
- Team Activities or Meals
- Team Scheduled Player Development
- Team Equipment

In addition to the extra team costs listed, the registration fee does not cover the items below:
- October Clinic
- Specialty Individually Registered Program Fees
- Tryout Fee
- Volunteer Hours Program Fees
Jerseys
Players are given loaner game jerseys by FLHA at the Jr Gold level and do not need to purchase any new jerseys.
Volunteer Hours Program
Families of Jr. Gold players WILL be required to participate in the Volunteer Hours Program. More details on the program can be found on the Volunteer Hours Program page.
