FLake Jam

Our Flake Jam offers a unique and fun experience for upper-level mites/8U players. This USA Hockey sanctioned tournament is a pool to bracket play with referees and scorekeeping. In addition, all games are half ice. A fun experience for all!
Levels
- Mite 3 & Mite 4
- 8U 3 and 8U 4
NOTE: There will be separate divisions for mites (boys) and 8U (girls), so please make sure you register for the correct division.

NOTE: Games may start as early as 5:00 PM Friday. Games should be done around 7:00 PM on Sunday.

Tournament format
Mite 3/B:
- 4 game guarantee with the possibility of 5.
- Pool play will be followed by seeding to tournament brackets based on wins/losses
- Informal ‘championship’ game and 3rd place game for all 24 teams
Mite 4/A:
- 4 game guarantee with the possibility of 5.
- Pool play will be followed by seeding to tournament brackets based on wins/losses.
- Informal ‘championship’ game and 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th, & 15th place game for all 16 teams.
8U Level 4/A & 8U Level 3/B:
- 4 game guarantee
- Pool play will be followed by seeding to tournament brackets based on wins/losses.
- Informal ‘championship’ game and 3rd, 5th, & 7th place game for all teams.
Tournament Details
- All games will be 4 vs 4 plus goalies
- Half-ice with MN Hockey Solid Divider Boards
- Each game will have one USA Hockey certified referee on the ice
- 2 x 20 minute periods (running time)
- 3 minute warm-up, 1 minute break between periods
- Player changes at the buzzer every 90 seconds
- No ‘off-sides’ or ‘icing’ will be called.
- Players will ‘tag up’ at mid-ice after goals or puck freeze
- Player infractions will result in a penalty shot against the offending team
- Score WILL be kept with a max differential of 10 goals. Play continues but scoring will not be updated unless score differential returns to 9 goals.
- Pool play will be followed by seeding to brackets based on wins/losses.
- An informal ‘championship’ game for A & B divisions ONLY.
- No trophies will be awarded for 1st place, 2nd place, etc. (only bragging rights)
- All players to receive a dated award and other tournament swag
- Lots of fun activities and games on-site all weekend and great vendors!
Level Selection

- Mite/8U Level 3 - These teams are predominantly 3rd graders with some 2nd graders.
- Mite/8U Level 4 - These teams are predominantly 3rd graders and are the top mite/8U team(s) in your association.
